Step 3

Pay for the time

Clear pricing and an invoice when the job's done. Pay by EFT or card online.

Pricing

Simple, honest rates

Quick fix · 30 min or less
R300 flat

Most small problems are solved well within half an hour.

Longer jobs · over 30 min
R550 / hour

Setups, migrations and bigger repairs, billed for the time used.

Hardware and parts, if needed, are quoted separately before anything is bought. Websites are quoted per project, with hosting at R100/month or hosting + basic support at R250/month. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR).

Ways to pay: EFT, or securely online by card and other methods through PayFast. Card details are handled by PayFast and never seen or stored by Device Doctor. See our refund and cancellation policies.

Last updated: 28 October 2026

These terms apply to all services and products supplied by Device Doctor, an independent IT support business based in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa (“Device Doctor”, “we”, “us”). By booking a service, accepting a quote or making a payment, you (“the client”) agree to these terms.

1. Our services

Device Doctor provides IT support and related services to homes and small businesses, including:

Services are delivered in person in Paarl and surrounding areas, or remotely. See our delivery policy.

2. Pricing

3. Quotes and bookings

Bookings can be made by WhatsApp, phone or email. Written quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise. If a job looks like it will run well beyond what was discussed, we will check with you before continuing.

4. Payment

An invoice is issued when the job is done, or as set out in your quote for larger projects (which may require a deposit). Payment is due on receipt of the invoice and can be made by EFT or online through PayFast, our secure payment provider. Monthly website plans are billed monthly in advance. We may pause work or hosting on accounts that remain unpaid.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Remote access

Remote sessions only take place with your permission, using reputable remote-support software. You can watch the session and end it at any time. We do not keep remote access to your device after the session unless you have agreed to ongoing support.

7. Warranties and liability

We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. Hardware supplied carries the manufacturer's warranty and your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. To the extent allowed by law, Device Doctor is not liable for loss of data, loss of income or indirect losses, or for faults caused by pre-existing problems, third-party software or services, or changes made by others after our work. Our total liability for any job is limited to the amount paid for that job.

8. Websites and third-party services

Website content (text, photos, logos) supplied by you remains yours, and you confirm you have the right to use it. Hosting, domains, Microsoft 365 and other third-party services are subject to those providers' own terms and availability.

9. Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our privacy policy, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

10. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of your booking applies.

Privacy policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Device Doctor respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. What we collect

To fix a problem we may need to see data on your device or sign in to your accounts. We only access what is needed for the job and do not copy, keep or share your files or passwords beyond that.

2. Card payments

Online payments are processed by PayFast. Your card or bank details are entered on PayFast's secure payment pages and are never seen or stored by Device Doctor. PayFast's own privacy policy applies to the information you give them.

3. Why we use it

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not send marketing without your consent.

4. Who we share it with

Only with service providers needed to deliver our services, such as PayFast (payments), hosting and email providers, or suppliers when ordering hardware for you, or where required by law.

5. How we protect it and how long we keep it

Records are kept on password-protected, secured systems. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and financial records for the period required by South African law.

6. Website

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and does not collect personal information unless you contact us.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how it is used, by contacting us below. If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Refund policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

We want every client to be happy with the result. Because most of our work is time-based service, refunds work a little differently from a shop, as set out below.

1. Services

2. Hardware and parts

Hardware bought on your behalf is covered by the manufacturer's warranty and your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including the right to return defective goods within six months. Faulty items will be repaired, replaced or refunded in line with the supplier's warranty. Unopened items ordered specially for you may only be returned if the supplier accepts the return.

3. Websites and monthly plans

4. Payment errors

Duplicate payments or overcharges are always refunded in full.

5. How refunds are paid

To request a refund, contact us within 14 days of the invoice with your invoice number. Approved refunds are paid back to the original payment method (card refunds go through PayFast) or by EFT, usually within 7–10 business days. Your bank may take a few extra days to show the money.

6. Contact

Email nicholas@devicedoc.co.za or WhatsApp 062 640 3008.

Cancellation policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. Appointments and visits

2. Hardware orders

Hardware orders can be cancelled at no cost before the item has been ordered from the supplier. Once ordered, cancellation depends on the supplier's return policy, and any supplier fees will be passed on.

3. Website projects

You may cancel a website project at any time by letting us know in writing. You will be charged only for work completed up to that point, and any unused deposit will be refunded.

4. Monthly hosting and support plans

Monthly plans have no fixed contract. Cancel any time with 30 days' written notice. No further charges will be made after the notice period, and we will help you move your website and domain elsewhere if you wish.

5. Online purchases cooling-off

Where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies to an online purchase, you may cancel within 7 days without penalty, except for services that have already been fully or partly delivered with your agreement.

Delivery policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Device Doctor mainly delivers services, not shipped goods. This page explains how and where our services, hardware and websites are delivered.

1. On-site services

On-site support is delivered at your home or office in Paarl and the surrounding Cape Winelands area. Visits are usually arranged within 1–2 business days of booking, and often the same day for urgent problems. Visits further away are possible by arrangement, and any travel charge is agreed with you beforehand.

2. Remote services

Remote support is available anywhere in South Africa with an internet connection, using secure remote-support software. Remote sessions can usually be arranged the same or next business day.

3. Hardware and parts

Hardware bought for you is ordered from trusted South African suppliers and delivered and installed by Device Doctor at your premises. Expected delivery time is given with your quote, typically 2–7 business days depending on the supplier. We do not ship products by courier unless agreed with you.

4. Websites

Websites are delivered online. A delivery timeline is agreed in your quote, and the project is complete when the site is live on your domain. Monthly hosting and support start from go-live.

5. Confirmation

After each job you receive an invoice listing the work done, which serves as confirmation of delivery. Online payment confirmations are emailed by PayFast.

6. Delays

If anything delays a visit, order or website (for example load-shedding, supplier stock or waiting on content from you), we will let you know promptly with a new expected date.
